Note from Jack:

I imagine that this short film will be hard to watch, for many trans men whose parents have rejected them. While Ewan's mother now supports her trans son and clearly states that she wants to help him transition, she also speaks about his transition this way:

"It felt like a death. Like my daughter died, but there was no grave for me to go to. I cried, day and night. Sometimes, all day. I cried as if my child died. I cried just as much, and grieved just as much about Rachel not being Rachel anymore, and I felt just as intensely, as if my parents had died."

It's probably an important short film for some families to watch, especially parents who might feel the same way Ewan's mother did. It's clear that Ewan's mother worked through these feelings, in the end, and that they both had space to adjust before coming together.

Ewan cries with happiness when she says that she gives him her blessing to start testosterone.
